Michael Jordan 623 Project #5: All About August
Just How Crazy Are Things Getting? What BGS 9.5 vs PSA 10 should you target? And Part 1/4 Worst MJ Gem Rates (Common Cards)
I’m releasing this week early in light of my appearance on Cajun Cardboard and this post is stacked with data. Tables. graphs. Way too much to write on but plenty for you to look across yourself. If you’re not in this yet - GET IN.
This week is all about August. Things are crazy and quite frankly we need to know the how and where this craziness is occurring. We already did a deep dive on the Finest Black Label and pop 2 PSA 10 Apparitions last week. This week we need to step back and look at things from a few different angles.
Overall highest priced sales
Slab trends update
Biggest increase in August sales from just last June
Also on deck this week - let’s find some deals on BGS 9.5s vs PSA 10s since they’re getting crazy anyway. We’ll look at the cards with the lowest ratio in price and maybe even the highest in the event you might want to offload a PSA 10 while you can.
Let’s get to it. We’ll start with a simple pull of the highest priced sales of August up until I ran the update on August 24.
July vs August Sales - What a difference a month makes
Sorting highest sales is a good starting point to skim through - but let’s crush something a little more illuminating. Let’s take only cards worth $1,000 or more that sold in both July 2025 and again in August to see how much they increased/decreased in value. That’s what I have in the table below in order of price increase for whatever slab (grader/grade combo). You’ll also note the number of total sales for the slab across this timeframe, but only the first and last price is recorded.
